Sally J. Chapman, 87, of Monroe, passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2022, at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home in Fort Wayne. She was born in Pleasant Mills, IN, on November 9, 1934, the daughter of the late S. Nimrod and Edith (Place) McCullough. Sally was married to Kerwin Chapman, he preceded her in death on February 3, 1969.
She was a member of First Baptist Church and worked at Adams County Extension Office, as a secretary, for 32 years.
Sally is survived by her daughter, Susie (Lynn) Myers of Monroe, IN; a brother, Richard McCullough of Rockford, OH; 3 grandchildren, Mindy (Craig) Fruechte of Decatur, IN, Katie (Paul) Fisher of Monroe, IN, Carley Myers of Memphis, TN; 4 great grandchildren, Mason, Brielle, John and Della; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald and Charles “Chuck” McCullough; a sister, Susan A. Norton.
Visitation will be from Noon – 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 9, 2022, at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 10, 2022, at First Baptist Church in Decatur, with visitation 1 hour prior from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. at the church. Pastor Whitney West will be officiating and a private burial will follow, in Decatur Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church.
