We at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home, hold the safety of the families that entrust their loved ones to our care above all. During this difficult time of the coronavirus pandemic we are adjusting week by week to provide our families a time and place to grieve, mourn and, remember the lives of those they love, all this while trying to cooperate within regulations set by our local government and the guidelines of the Indiana Funeral Directors Association.
We are, as we always have been open for business, but must abide by certain restrictions that have been put in place. This is very much so a family by family decision, when deciding on what they are comfortable with, when to rendering services. We now may hold public visitations, but must limit the number of people being received into the funeral home or a private visitation may be held as well. Funeral Services may also be held at this time either at the funeral home or at a church (if allowed by the presiding clergy) and are only for immediate family and must be private. Graveside Services at the cemetery we are allowing to be open to public, but ones attending must maintain a safe distance, either wear a face mask, or remain in their vehicles.
As you know, if you are not feeling well or have underlying health issues please do not enter our facility or attend a funeral service. We are being vigilant about cleaning and disinfecting the funeral home especially after services and arrangement conferences.
We have opened up our flower room (3rd St. Entrance) as a place where residents may come to pickup up face masks, if they so desire.
During this time, we will continue to strive to provide the same quality of funeral service that we have provided to Adams County and the surrounding area for over a century.
