Lois R. Rumschlag, 93, formerly of Decatur, IN passed away on Monday, February 24, 2020 at her daughter’s residence in Marion, OH. She was born on June 14, 1926 in Decatur the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Bernadine (Heidemann) Geimer. On February 19, 1946, she married Jerome L. Rumschlag and he preceded her in death on March 11, 2010.
She was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church.
Lois is survived by her children, daughter, Elizabeth (Charles) Iacobucci of Marion, OH, sons, Michael (Ann) Rumschlag of Decatur, IN, Samuel (Lily) Rumschlag O.D. of Carmel, IN, Phillip (Brenda) Rumschlag of Laotto, IN, Leo (Judith, M.D.) Rumschlag of Vallonia, IN, Harold Rumschlag of Fort Wayne, IN, Paul Rumschlag of Chicago, IL, daughters, Pamela (Bruce) Robinson of New Haven, IN, Barbara (Phil) Marcum of West Carrollton, OH, sons Gerald (Kim) Rumschlag of Altus, OK, Russell (Gaylene) Rumschlag of Washington, MI, Patrick (Amy) Rumschlag of Decatur, IN, and Ned (Laura) Rumschlag of Columbia City, IN; 34 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 22 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 2 daughters, Annette Marie Rumschlag and Kenise Rumschlag, 3 sisters, Florence Koors, Mildren Leitz and Germaine Spangler; 2 brothers, Lawrence Geimer and Eugene Geimer.
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 27, 2020, at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home, with reciting of the Holy Rosary at 3:30 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 28, 2020, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, with visitation 1 hour prior from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. in the St. Mary’s Parish Hall. Father David Ruppert will be officiating and burial will immediately follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Preferred memorials are to St. Mary Building on our Heritage.
