Obituary

Larry Lee Parker, 79, of Decatur, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Larry was born in Van Wert, Ohio on August 15, 1942, to the late Donald K. and Wilma C. (Bartz) Parker. On January 24, 1970, Larry married Janet Bower.

Larry retired from the United States Postal Service with over 30 years as a mail carrier. He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion Post #43. Larry enjoyed collecting coins and stamps and loved nature, especially bird watching.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Parker of Decatur, Indiana; two sons, Mark (Lorri) Parker of Dayton, Ohio and Nathan Parker of Indianapolis, Indiana; daughter-in-law, Marla Parker of Centreville, Virginia; brother, Jan Parker of Monroeville, Indiana; and two grandchildren, Makayla and Maya Parker.

Larry was preceded in death by a son, Matthew A. Parker; three brothers, Jerry “Hoss” Parker, Donald Parker Jr. and Dennis Parker; and a sister, Karen Parker.

Private services will be held. Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery with Military Honors by the American Legion Post #43 Color Guard.
