Larry Gene Hoffman (a.k.a. Puffy, Hoffee, and most beloved name Papa) passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Larry arrived on this journey around the sun on October 1, 1941, in Adams County, IN, the son of the late Milton L. and Dorothy I. (Mankey) Hoffman.
Larry is survived by his wife, Karen (Brandt) Hoffman his sidekick for 59 years. He is also survived by daughter Renee (Brian) Roche, Fishers, IN and son Michael Hoffman Muncie, mother Dorothy Hoffman Decatur, and sister Carolyn Hoffman, Ossian. Larry is also survived by six outstanding talented grandchildren, Samantha Hoffman (Caleb Hardy), Connor James Roche, Zachary Hoffman (Mallory Edmundowicz), Sean P Roche, Addi Hoffman, and Aidan Roche. Larry also is survived by one great granddaughter Izzy Marie. Preceded in death by son Marc Hoffman and father Milton Hoffman.
Larry Graduated from Ball State University and spent a lifetime in education ending his career at Muncie Southside High School, Muncie Community Schools. Larry and his wife were blessed to be able to travel extensively and never missed an opportunity for an adventure.
Being a lifelong Yankee fan, one of Larry‘s favorite travel experiences included watching his grandsons catch a home run flyball at Yankee Stadium. Retirement years allowed Larry and his wife to spend time at Oliver Lake, LaGrange, IN the most beautiful spot in Northern Indiana. Larry and his wife were also beach bums at Myrtle Beach,South Carolina ,for several winters where the sunrises each morning on the beach reaffirms that God is good all the time.
The family will hold a private visitation and celebration of life at a later date at Oliver Lake.
