Obituary

John W. Walther III, 57, of Decatur, IN passed away at his residence on Wednesday, January 27, 2021. John was born on May 10, 1963, in Washington, PA to John W. Walther II and Cassandra K. (Strickler) Sanderson. On June 22, 1990, John married Nicole R. Blume.

John was a 1981 graduate of Bellmont High School, where he played football, baseball and swimming. He coached Minor League and Little League Baseball at Monmouth. Prior to his disability, John worked for Fleetwood for 22 years.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Nicole R. (Nicky) Walther; mother, Cassandra K. Sanderson; 2 sons, John W. Walther IV and Jordan D. Walther; daughter, Jessica N. (Cody) Brunner all of Decatur; siblings, Jeff (Steph) Sanderson, Gavin (Maria) Walther, Barry (Jackie) Sanderson, Carla (Charlie) Bird and Paul (Kathy) Sanderson; mother-in-law, Barbara J. (Bobbi) Mauller. He was preceded in death by his father, John W. Walther Jr. M.D.

Visitation will be on Saturday, January 30, 2021 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home.

A 2:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Sunday with calling from 1:00-2:00 p.m. also at the funeral home.
