Edwin E. “Ed” Call, 93, of Decatur, passed away Friday, August 9, 2019 at Adams Woodcrest. Ed was born in Wells County, Indiana on February 10, 1926 to the late Ellis E. and Della L. (Humerickhouse) Call. On August 21, 1948, he married Dorothy M. Smith; she preceded him in death on October 1, 2007 after 59 years of marriage
Ed attended the Decatur Church of God for over 70 years. He loved to serve, and had many different roles in the life of the church. He also served his country in the United States Army during WWII.
He is survived by a son, Daniel E. (Tammy) Call of Decatur; 2 daughters, Cheryl A. (Robin) Landis and Linda J. (Ken) Cauble both of Decatur; 3 sisters, Nolan (Rosie) Hoffman of Roanoke, Grace Kreischer of Palmeto, FL and Kathleen Becker of Ft. Wayne; 7 grandchildren Mason, Madison and Makenna Call, Stephanie (Matt) Williamson, Heather DelaRosa, Jessica (Brad) Wojcicki and Casey (Liz) Landis. 4 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 2 brothers Raymond and Joe; and 1 sister Karen.
Visitation will be on Tuesday August 13, 2019 at Adams Woodcrest Porter Auditorium from 2:00-3:00 pm, at Haggard Sefton Hirschy & Zelt from 4:00 – 7:00 pm, and one hour prior to the services at the church.
Funeral will be held at Decatur Church of God on Wednesday August 14, 2019 at 1:00pm, with Rev. Ken Mishler officiating. Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery with military graveside rites by American Legion Post 43.
Memorials may be given to the Decatur Church of God.
