Anna Marie Kruse, 81, of Decatur, IN, passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Adams Memorial Hospital. She was born on June 4, 1937, in Berne, IN, the daughter of the late Arthur H. Lengerich and Palmyre M. “Polly” (Colpaert) Lengerich. On November 28, 1959, she married William F. Kruse.
She was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and was also involved in the former Harvest House. She was also a member of the Rosary Society, where Annie gave of herself for over 35 years, where she without hesitation would prepare the many funeral dinners for St. Mary’s Parish.
Annie was a 1955 graduate of Decatur Catholic High School and was also a 1958 graduate of Holy Cross Central School of Nursing in South Bend. As a Registered Nurse, she worked for Adams County Memorial Hospital and San Diego General Hospital in California. Upon returning to Decatur with Bill in 1964, she worked the rest of her life as a homemaker.
She was a member of both the K of C Council 864 Ladies Shuffle Board League and the American Legion Post 43 Ladies Auxiliary
Annie is survived by her husband of 58 years, William F. Kruse of Decatur; a son, Bryan W. (Kandance) Kruse of Ft.Wayne; a daughter-in-law, Sherry L. Kruse of Ft. Wayne; a brother, Frederick A. Lengerich of Monroe; 2 sisters, Mary M. (Lewis) Mallott of Collinsville, IL and Joyce E. (Daniel) Schnitz of Monroe. She was preceded in death by her son, Wayne W. Kruse on April 14, 2009.
Visitation will be from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home, with a reciting of the Holy Rosary at 4:00 p.m.
A 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 15, 2018 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, with calling 1 hour prior from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. in the St. Mary’s Parish Hall. Father Jose Panamattathil, V.C., will be officiating and burial will take place in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
