Ralph Thomas Bailer, 81, of Adams County, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at his residence. He was born in Adams County, on January 11, 1939, the son of the late Richard and Luella (Boylan) Racine. On June 23, 1979, he married Donna Bailer.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and served our country in the United States Army, from 1956-1960. Ralph worked, 28 years at Dunbar Furniture, doing upholstery. He was also employed at Gilpins and Fleetwood. Ralph was a member of the Moose Lodge 1311 and the American Legion Post 43.
Ralph enjoyed working on crossword puzzles, spending time with family and grandkids, vacationing at the ocean, watching wrestling, his favorite TV shows and Nascar Races.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Bailer of Decatur; a son, Charles Thomas (Tricia) Bailer of Huntertown, IN; 5 daughters, Paula Renee’ Bailer of Decatur, Cathy (Bailer) Campbell of Ossian, Missy (Paul) Hockemeyer of Decatur, Shelly “Thane Plumley” Pugh of Convoy, OH, Marsha (Jeremy) Friedt of Decatur; 2 sisters, Victoria “Art” Torres of California, Delores “Cookie” Loaiza of Washington; Grandchildren, Brittney (Matt) Gallmeyer, Breanna (Sam) Strome, Karley (Bryan Walker) Hockemeyer, Makayla Free, Molly Pugh, Carson Friedt, Cameron Friedt, Brandon Kaehr, Camden Mitchell, Alexa (Dean) Sorg, Ethyn Bailer; Great Grandchildren, Kallin & Garrett Strome, Avery & Gracelyn Gallmeyer, Jaxon Sorg, Raven Kaehr.
Ralph was preceded in death by his step father, Paul Racine; his step mother, Dorothy Bailer; a brother, Jerry Bailer; a daughter, Kris Bailer; Grandchildren, Austin, Macy, Mason, Eli & Payton Marie Campbell.
A Private Family Service will be held with Pastor Steve Austin officiating.
