Obituary

Mary Ann Braun, 87, of Decatur, IN passed away, Monday, March 8, 2021 at Adams Memorial Hospital.  Mary Ann was born on February 25, 1934 in Adams County, IN to the late Fred M. and Frances R. (Omlor) Ulman. On February 19, 1955, she married John J. Braun; he preceded her in death on November 28, 1996.

Mary Ann was a 1952 graduate of Decatur Catholic High School. She was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, a member of the Rosary Society and St. Mary’s Choir.

She is survived by her children, Jeanette (Kenny) Zufall of Virginia Beach, VA, Gregg J. Braun of Decatur, Larry (Jean) Braun of Decatur, Deb (David) Stafford of Seattle, WA, Patty (Ken) Swales of Decatur and Eric (Michelle) Braun of Ohio City, OH; 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Julia A. Braun; siblings, James, Patricia and Tom Ulman.

Visitation will be on Friday, March 12, 2021 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. with reciting of the Holy Rosary at 4:30 p.m. at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home.

A 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 13th at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church with Father David Ruppert officiating.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Building on our Heritage or to Masses.
