Marilyn R. Uhrick, 70, former resident of Decatur, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. She was born on August 28, 1950, daughter to the late Gerald and Irene (Heimann) Grove. On August 28, 1971, she married Kerry L. Uhrick, he preceded her in death on October 19, 2019.
She was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Decatur. She also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Decatur. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed quilting and crocheting. Marilyn was a former matron at the Adams County Law Enforcement Center.
She is survived by 2 sons, David L. (Kristina) Uhrick of Ft. Wayne, IN, Jeffrey L. (Denise) Uhrick of Chandler, AZ; a daughter, Lisa C. (Ryon) Adcock of Portage, IN; 4 grandchildren, Baylee, Jadon, Abigail and Isaac; her sisters and brothers; Barbara (Kevin) Martin, Jane (Bob) McCoy, Joyce Inniger, Pat (Larry) Bracey, Gary (Karla) Grove, Jim Grove and Bob Grove.
Marilyn was preceded in death by a brother, Ron Grove, a sister Beverly Grove and a sister-in-law, Sonya Grove.
Visitation will be on Monday, Sept 14, 2020 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 15th at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, with calling 1 hour prior to service from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Pastor Ryon Adcock and Pastor Chris Gadlage will be officiating. Entombment will follow in the crypt of their mausoleum in Ray Cemetery in Monroe, IN.
