Obituary

Margaret M.B. (Strickland) Aeschliman, 76, of Decatur, IN, passed away at her residence on Saturday, March 27, 2021. Margaret was born in Edinburgh, Scotland on March 5, 1945, the daughter of the late Thomas Beck and Elizabeth (Crawford) Strickland. On August 18, 1964, Margaret married Donald E. Aeschliman Jr. and he preceded her in death on August 25, 1989.

In 1968, Margaret moved to her husband’s hometown of Decatur from Corby, Northamptonshire, England. She was a homemaker and then purchased Gandy Dancers Floral Shop, which she operated for over 20 years.

She loved her family above all and was a mother-figure to many people through the years.

Margaret is survived by 2 sons, Craig Aeschliman of Colorado Springs, CO and Dan Aeschliman of Ohio; 2 daughters, Donna Aeschliman Henney and Lisa (Ken) Kortenber both of Decatur; a sister-in-law, Mima Strickland of Corby, Northamptonshire, England; 8 grandchildren, McKenzie and Zoey Aeschliman, Lauren Henney and Matalin Arroyo, Logan (Madison) Kortenber and Nathan (Brooke) Kortenber; Justin Aeschliman and Lily Phillips and 6 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Strickland and a sister, Mae Strickland.

Per Margaret’s request, there will be NO services and her ashes will be taken back to England.
