Jim E. Arnold, 88, of Geneva, IN passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Adams Memorial Hospital. Jim was born on May 18, 1932 in Adams County, IN to the late Floyd A. and Lela May (Schlickman) Arnold. On December 31, 1953, Jim married Mary Ellen Byerly.
Jim was member of Pleasant Dale Church of the Brethren. He retired as a school teacher, where he had taught at Monmouth and South Adams High School. He was a lifetime member of the VFW; a member of the Indiana State Teachers Association and National Education Association. He served his country in the United States Army. He was able to go on the Honor Flight #34 and loved the experience.
Jim is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary Ellen Arnold of Geneva; a son, James L. (Diane) Arnold of Geneva; 3 daughters, Joy L. (Rick) Fay of Indianapolis, Janis L. (Lynn) Dustman of Geneva and Joan L. Arnold of Geneva; a brother, Darrel (Joyce) Arnold of Decatur; a sister-in-law, Pat Arnold of Monroe; 6 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 5 step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Arnold.
A Private Family Service will be held, due to the Covid-19 concerns.
Burial will be in Pleasant Dale Church Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Pleasant Dale Church or Pleasant Dale Cemetery.
