Eileen D. Bowman, 98, of Decatur, Indiana passed away Saturday, November 13, 2021, at Adams Woodcrest.
Eileen was born on April 27, 1923, in Dutchtown, Indiana to the late Frank A. Griems and the late Lena M.J. (Pasel) Griems. She was united in marriage to Glen S. Bowman on August 8, 1942, and he preceded her in death on September 22, 2010.
She was a member of 1st Baptist Church in Decatur. In addition, she was a member of the Caliente Club, Herb Club, and Red Hat Society.
Eileen retired from G.E. Bag Service in Decatur after many years of service.
She enjoyed traveling and time spent camping with her husband, Glen. Spending time outside working in her yard gave her great joy and she also loved animals. She was a very social person and greatly valued her friendships over the years and loved talking.
Eileen is survived by a son-in-law, John B. Aker of Decatur, Indiana; granddaughter, Krissa Aker of Decatur, Indiana; granddaughter, Joni Aker of Decatur, Indiana; great-granddaughter, Padin Grove; and a brother, Frank Griems of Howe, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Aker, and two sisters, Helen and Lillian “Susie”.
A Funeral Service for Eileen will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 18, 2021, at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home with Pastor Whitney West officiating. Burial will follow at Decatur Cemetery.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials can be given to 1st Baptist Church – Decatur.
