Donald H. Harvey, 94, of Monroe, Indiana passed away Sunday morning, July 4, 2021, at Adams Woodcrest in Decatur.
He was born in Corydon, Indiana to the late Harold G. Harvey and the late Francille E. (Burger) Harvey. He was united in marriage to Mary M. Rhoades on July 12, 1946, and she preceded him in death on August 25, 2013.
Don attended Monroe United Brethren Church.
He was employed as an Assistant Superintendent for Adams County Highway Department retiring in 1990.
Don is survived by four sons, Jack S. (Barb) Harvey of Decatur, Indiana, Donald J. “Jim” (Vickie) Harvey of Rockford, Ohio, Jerry L. (Sue) Harvey of Decatur, Indiana, and Gregg A. (Lori) Harvey of Monroe, Indiana; three daughters, Elaine D. (Leonard) Schug of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Patty J. (Alan) Schug of Monroe, Indiana, and Carolyn S. (Dennis) Light of Cleveland, Tennessee; brother, Gary L. Harvey of Decatur, Indiana; sister, Zora Jane Parker of Warsaw, Indiana; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; sister, Dixie Arven; and two brothers, James Harvey and Waldo “Jack” Harvey.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 9, 2021, at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home in Decatur with Pastor Jay Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Ray Cemetery of rural Monroe, Indiana.
Family will receive friends from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 8, 2021, at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home in Decatur.
Preferred memorials can be given to Heart to Heart Hospice.
