Donald E. Gramelspacher, 85, of Monroeville, former resident of Decatur passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at his residence, in Fort Wayne. He was born in Fort Wayne, IN, on February 4, 1936, the son of the late Paul L. and Agnes L. (Wagner) Gramelspacher. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Bunker.
He attended Monroeville High School and served his country, during the Korean War, in the United States Navy. Donald worked at International Harvester, after 23 years, retired in 1991. He was also a lifetime member of the V.F.W. 6236 and a member of the American Legion Post 43.
Donald is survived by his 2 daughters, Tonni Murphy of Decatur, Penni Helms of Fort Wayne; a son, William Helms of Decatur; a half-sister, Rosemarie Boardman; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Agnes Gramelspacher; his wife, Wanda Bunker; a daughter, Sandy; a sister, Mary Helen Dellinger; a half-brother, Jerry Gramelspacher.
A Private Graveside Rites, by the American Legion Guard Post 43, will be held in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
