Obituary

Dona J. Edgell, 74, of Logansport, IN passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at Kokomo Healthcare Facility. Dona was born in Decatur, IN on February 12, 1948, to the late Norvel Nunn and Nina (Adams) Urbine. On October 29, 1963, she married Thomas W. Edgell, he preceded her in death in July, 1991.

She was a parishioner of All Saints Catholic Church, in Logansport and was a former parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, in Decatur.

Dona was a homemaker and was a talented seamstress. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flower beds. She also loved dancing.

She is survived by 2 sons, Chris Edgell of Convoy, OH and Daniel (Karen) Edgell of Pickens, SC; 4 daughters, Lori Saunders of Logansport, IN, Toni Gordon of Van Wert, OH, Amy (Mike) Scott of Decatur, IN and Renee Mishleau of Van Wert, OH; a sister, Ada Mendoza of Decatur, IN; 16 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Dona was preceded in death by a daughter, Jane Edgell; a son, William Edgell and a sister, Jean Christner.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2022, and on Monday, June 6, 2022, from 3:30 – 6:30 p.m., with a reciting of the Holy Rosary at 3:00 p.m., at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. Father David Ruppert will be presiding and burial will immediately follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Easter Seals ARC of NE Indiana.
