Clyde “Junior” Baker, 91, of Decatur, IN went home to be with his Lord, Sunday, August 22, 2021. He was born August 19, 1930 in Newell, West Virginia the son of the late Clyde and Nettie (Freeland) Baker. Clyde was united in marriage to Joyce M. Pugh in 1957 at Church of Nazarene in Chester, West Virginia.
Junior was a faithful lifetime member of the Nazarene Church and served in a number of positions as church treasurer, Sunday School Superintendent, and Mission director, also board member, sang in the choir and assisted in the Children’s Dept.
He is an Air Force Veteran, a graduate of Wells High School in Newell, West Virginia and has a Business Certification from Ohio Valley Business College. He enjoyed singing and Woodworking and with Pride-loved the sports activities of his grandchildren.
Junior is survived by his wife 64 years, Joyce Baker of Decatur; son, Richard (Yolanda) Baker of Monroe; 3 grandchildren, Randall (Stacey) Baker of Poe, Kyle Baker of Monroe and Matthew (Kaylyn) Baker of Decatur; 2 great grandchildren, Ronin and Maisie Baker. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 27, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Berne Church of the Nazarene, with Rev. Matthew Phillips officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to service from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Burial will immediately follow in Ray Cemetery.
