Catherine L. “Kate” Loshe, 88, of Decatur, passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2022, at Adams Woodcrest. She was born in Decatur, IN, on January, 18, 1934, the daughter of the late John A. and Marcella F. (Keller) Loshe.
She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and was a 1952 graduate of Decatur Catholic High School. She was a member of the Women of St. Mary and was active in the parish where she served funeral dinners for many years.
Kate worked for the City of Decatur and was the administrative assistant to numerous Mayors over her 39-year career.
She is survived by her daughter, Cathleen S. “Cathy” Loshe of Fort Wayne; 3 “adopted daughters”, Judy Lengerich of Decatur, Leigh Coffee of Columbia City, Linda Shull of Ann Arbor, MI; lifelong best friend, Jackie Conrad of Decatur; 2 nephews, Patrick Loshe of Sarasota and Randy Burkhart of Decatur.
Kate was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Loshe and a sister, Patricia Vergara.
Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home, with a reciting of the Holy Rosary at 4:30 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 10, 2022, in St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, with visitation 1 hour prior in the Parish Hall from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Father David Ruppert will be presiding. Inurnment will take place in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, at a later date.
