Obituary

Billy J. Ross, 87, of Decatur, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022, at Adams Memorial Hospital. Billy was born in Wren, Ohio on August 8, 1934, to Clark and Mabel (Shook) Ross. On February 20, 1953, he married Jean Kallenberger.

He was a member of the Moose Lodge #1311, Eagles Lodge #2653 and American Legion Post #241, in Waynedale.

Billy was employed at Decatur Castings for 9 years and retired from the warehouse at Krogers, after 36 years of service.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Jean Ross of Decatur; 2 sons, Lester (Jane) Ross and Ronald Ross both of Decatur; a brother-in-law, Don Sausaman; 5 sisters-in-law, Barbara Ross, Dolly Ross, Joyce Ross, Joanne Karbach, Janet Heimann; 2 granddaughters; 1 great granddaughter; 1 great-great granddaughter.

Billy was preceded in death by 3 sisters, 8 brothers and a brother-in-law.

A Memorial Service will be held at Noon on Friday, February 11, 2022, with a Memorial Visitation 1 hour prior to the service at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Pastor Ernie Suman will be officiating, and burial will take place in Ray Cemetery, at a later date.
