Alice A. Ulman, 83, of Hoagland, IN, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Kingston Residence of Fort Wayne. Alice was born in Adams County, IN, on October 3, 1937, the daughter of the late Herman B. and Martha C. (Hebble) Ulman.
She was a parishioner at St. Joseph Catholic Church – Hessen Cassel, where for years she worked funeral dinners and she also made costumes for the schools’ annual production.
Alice was a 1956 graduate of Decatur Catholic High School. She retired after 31 years as a technician for Sears.
She was most known for being an accomplished and talented seamstress. She truly loved helping people and would always put others before herself. Alice loved cooking, traveling and was a master gardener.
Alice is survived by her son, Dennis (Anne) Ulman of Ft. Wayne; 2 grandchildren, Christian and Abby Ulman; 10 nieces and 3 nephews; a sister, Peg Brown; 2 sisters-in-law, Barb Ulman and Cheryl Ulman.
She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Joe and Don Ulman; 2 sisters, Rheta Bartmess and Ruth Lithwin; a grandson, Benjamin Ulman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, January 11, 2021. at St. Joseph Catholic Church – Hessen Cassel, with Father William Kummer presiding. Calling will be 1 hour prior from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. Allen County and Diocese of Fort Wayne – South Bend guidelines for gathering and mask wearing will be adhered to during the viewing and service. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Decatur.
