Stuart A. Zurcher, 72, of Fishers, IN, formerly of Angola, IN, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on January 31, 1947, in Decatur, IN, the son of the late Arthur N. and Eva Joan (Pease) Zurcher.
He was a 1965 graduate of Adams Central High School. He then went on to receive his Associates in Sheet Metal Development at International Harvester Apprentice School and 2 Associates in Mechanical Engineering at Indiana University-Purdue University - Fort Wayne and Indiana Institute of Technology. He also served his country in the U.S. National Guard.
Stu was the president of Strategic Alliance Group, Inc., which still offers tire and automotive service dealers the opportunity to share best practices, financially compare against the industry trends to improve financial performance. He was the original founder of Tire Dealer Twenty Groups in the Tire Industry and longtime member of Tire Industry Association’s Board of Directors. He was also a partner at Zurcher Tire of Angola, Inc. for 36 years.
He was a member of Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Avon, IN.
Stu is survived by his daughter, Lesli J. Emerick of Fishers; 2 sisters, Vicki S. Magsamen of Fishers and Penny J. (Doug) Hinsky of Decatur; and a grandson, Emerson G. Emerick.
He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Michael J. Magsamen.
Visitation will be on Sunday, March 17, 2019 from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service will be held on 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 18, 2019 at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home, with calling 1 hour prior from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Pastor Amy Covington will be officiating and burial will take place in Ray Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist, Decatur; Our Shephard Lutheran Church, Avon; and Community Health Network Foundation’s Oncology Patient Assistance Fund.
