Shirley A. Hoffman 77, of Decatur, passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday June 22, 2019. Shirley was born on September 26, 1941 in Adams County, Indiana to the late Dale and Bernita (Lytle) Liby. On November 30, 1963 she married Ronald Hoffman. He preceded her in death on June 24, 1994.
Shirley was a member of Pleasant Dale Church of the Brethren. She graduated from Decatur High School in 1959. She then attended Manchester College.
Shirley retired in January of 2012 as a Dental Assistant after 38 years of service with Dr. H.M. Bohnke, Dr. J.B. Spaulding and Dr. Todd Evans. She was also an avid tennis fan, she especially loved to watch Roger Federer.
She is survived by two daughters Michele (Jeff) Warner of Grand Haven, MI. and Stephanie (Mike) Fawcett of Decatur; three grandchildren Jordan Lee (Nicky Carr) Warner, Jared (Steph) Fawcett, and Britny Fawcett; two great grand children Addison Paige Warner, and Brantley Michael Fawcett; one sister Sandy (Larry) Wellman of Berne.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday June 26th from 3:00 – 7:00pm at Haggard Sefton Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the services on Thursday from 9:30 – 10:30am at the church. Funeral services will be held at Pleasant Dale Church of the Brethren on Thursday June 27th at 10:30 am.
Burial will take place at Pleasant Dale Cemetery. Pastor Jay Carter will be officiating.
Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Pleasant Dale Building Fund through Haggard Sefton Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home.
