Marvin L. Baird, 81, of Greenwood, passed away on May 16, 2018. He was born on July 14, 1936 in Oklahoma to the late Everett and Faye Baird.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie Baird; son, Mark (Suzanne) Baird; step son, Nicholas (Raquel) Stadtmiller; grandchildren, Austin Baird, Alexander Baird, and Luke Baird; stepgrandchild, Matthias Stadtmiller; brother, Dr. David (Jane) Baird. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sadie Baird.
Marvin served as the Executive Director of the Adams Health Network. Through his vision he was instrumental in constructing the new Adams Memorial Hospital and developing the long-term healthcare facilities of Adams Woodcrest and Adams Evergreen both in Decatur, and Adams Heritage in Monroeville. He retired in February of 2011, after 22 years.
Marvin was a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He was also a Distinguished Hoosier and an Eagle Scout.
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home, 225 W. Adams St., Decatur, Indiana
Visitation will also be from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. on Monday, May 21, 2018 at G. H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens at Olive Branch, 1605 South State Road 135 and Olive Branch Road.
A Funeral Service will be conducted on Monday following the calling at 2:30 p.m. at G. H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home. Burial will take place in The Gardens at Olive Branch.
