Joan C. Davidson, 80, of Decatur, IN, passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at Adams Woodcrest. She was born on November 10, 1938 in Van Wert, OH, the daughter of the late George and Florence (Bectol) Beck. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonil “Smoke” Davidson.
She is survived by her son, David (Sue) Reidenbach of Decatur; step grandson, Brandon Pickens and step granddaughter, Ainsley Pickens both of Decatur; a brother, Carl Beck; 3 sisters, Janet Looker, Grace Stump, and Alice Dickson. She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Gayle, Steven, and Vernon Beck and 2 sisters, Gertrude Washburn and Hazel Brubaker.
Joan retired from dietary at Adams Memorial Hospital and Adams Woodcrest after many years of service.
She was a member of the Women of the Moose 625 at Lodge 1311, where she held many chairs. She also enjoyed helping out with benefits and dinner, especially golf outings, Christmas parties, and Legion suppers. The floor shows, live bands with dancing, and playing bingo were some of her favorites. She will be missed by all who knew her.
A Women of the Moose Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 11, 2019 at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home, with visitation 2 hours prior from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.
