David R. Chadwell, 90, of Decatur passed away at Markle Health and Rehabilitation Nursing Home on Friday, October 26, 2018. He was born on March 17, 1928. He is the son of the late Edger and Nettie (Bollins) Chadwell.
He served his country in the United States Army, during the Korean War. David also retired from Thunderbird Boat Factory in Decatur, Indiana.
He is survived by his 2 sons, Dennis (Delores) Chadwell of Berea, KY and John W. Chadwell of Markle, IN; a daughter, Doris L. (George) Baker of Nancy, KY. 5 grandchildren, Shane (Stephanie) Chadwell, Aaron Joe Chadwll both of Berea, KY, Jamie Powers, James Baker both of Somerset, KY, and David (Michale) Chadwell of Indianapolis, IN; 4 great-grandchildren, Zachary Chadwell, Austin Chadwell both of Berea, KY, Harrison Powers of Somerset, KY, Gabriel and Elizebeth Chadwell of Indianapolis, IN; 3 nephews, Danny Putteet, Ronnie Putteet, and Douglas Putteet all of IN; and 2 special nieces, Tammy and Miranda Putteet- special thanks for all the kindness and care they both expressed to him through life, as well as his final days. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edger and Nettie (Bollins) Chadwell; infant child, Mary Lee Chadwell; 2 sisters, Cleo Putteet-Wolf and Lucy May Burns; 2 nephews, Paul Hodge and Willie Putteet.
Per David's wishes NO visitation or funeral service will be held and his ashes will be buried in the Decatur Cemetery at a later date.
