Curtis D. Nussbaum, 86, of Monroe, Indiana passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2019, in Adams Woodcrest. Curtis was born on July 30, 1932 in Adams County, the son of Henry and Rosella (Beer) Nussbaum. He was united in marriage with Grace Wava (Fisher) Nussbaum on October 20, 1951.
He was a retired Foreman of CTS in Berne, and was a member of the Monroe Lions Club. He was an active member of St. Luke’s Church where he served as a Deacon, Elder, and held many other positions.
Curt was an avid sports fan. He especially loved watching his grandchildren play and his beloved Chicago Cubs.
Survivng him is his wife of 67 years, Grace Wava (Fisher) Nussbaum of Monroe, 2 daughters, Debra (Gary) Giessler and Diann “Toby” (Ken) Neadstine both of Monroe, 3 grandchildren, Kristopher (Rachel) Burkhart, Ashley Gaskill, and Austin Neadstine, 1 step grandson, Tod Giessler; 5 great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are 2 brothers, Jim and Weldon Nussbaum and 1 sister, Corrine Lehman.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, May 19, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy and Zelt Funeral Home. And also at St. Luke Church prior to the service from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m.
The Funeral service will be at St. Luke Church on Monday, May 20, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place in the Decatur Cemetery. Pastor Mike Brown and Pastor Mike Wertenberger will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Luke Church, Monroe Lions Club or Monroe Fire Department.
