Clyde Everett Tinnel, 79, of Decatur, IN, passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at his residence. He was born on May 12, 1939 in Knox County, TN, the son of the late Charles Roscoe Tinnel and Leona (Jones) Tinnel. On November 5, 1960 he married Joan Smith.
He served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked as a Loading Dock Foreman for the Kmart Distribution Center.
Clyde was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers, IU Basketball, and Tennessee Volunteers Football. He loved fishing, camping, and his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joan Tinnel of Decatur; 2 sons, Bret (Shawn) Tinnel of Decatur and Rick Tinnel of Ft. Wayne; a daughter, Carla (Dan) Roman of Decatur; a brother, Donnie (Susie) Tinnel of Las Cruces, NM; 3 sisters, Wilma Worthley of Van Wert, OH, Joyce Hakes of New Haven, and Betty Wallace of Ft. Wayne; 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, James, Floyd, and Ray Tinnel and 2 sisters, Sadie Gould and Juanita Rayfield.
Per Clyde’s request there will be NO visitation or funeral service.
Memorials may be made to the Strickler Cancer Institute.
