Betty L. Rash, 95, of Chapin, SC, formerly of Decatur, IN, passed away at the Heritage at Lowman Healthcare Facility in Chapin, SC. She was born on March 7, 1923, in Ft. Wayne, IN, the daughter of the late Clarence C. and Bertha M. (Rohrbach) Bohde. On July 7, 1945, she married Carl F. Rash and after 55 years together he preceded her in death on June 9, 2001.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Decatur and worked the majority of her life as a homemaker. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, yard work, and tending to her flowers.
Betty is survived by a son, Ted A. (Kathy) Rash of Ft. Wayne, IN; 2 daughters, Billie M. (Mike) Kruse of Decatur and Sandy S. (Chris) Ranly of Pomaria, SC; a brother, Donald Bohde of Kendallville; a sister, Gloria Sparks of Ft. Wayne; 8 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son, James S. Rash, a brother, Richard Bohde, and 2 sisters, Eileen Ambler and La Von Bohde.
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 23, 2018 also at the Funeral Home, with calling 1 hour prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be Pastor James Voorman and burial will take place in the Decatur Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Foundation or Zion Lutheran Church.
