Barbara Sue Loshe, 82, of Decatur, IN, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at her residence. She was born on April 6, 1935, in Ft. Wayne, IN, the daughter of the late Harold B. and Mary H. (Badders) Carter. On June 18, 1955, she married Joseph T. Loshe.
She was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, where she served as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. She was also a member of the Women of St. Mary’s and was a volunteer for the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
Barb worked for 4 years as an E.M.T. and then for 25 years as an Admittance Clerk for Adams County Memorial Hospital. She also was part of the Woodcrest Looney Tunes Band and volunteered at Adams Memorial Hospital in the gift shop.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Joe Loshe of Decatur; 3 daughters, Geri Ann (Mark) Pollock of Monroeville, Debra (Chris) Marbach, and Linda Price of Decatur; 3 sons, Jeffrey (Crystal) Loshe of Bluffton, Thomas (Donna) Loshe of Merritt Island, FL, and Steven (Teresa) Loshe of Decatur; 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Barb was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Bowman, a grandson, Branden Loshe, and a brother, James Carter.
Visitation will be on Sunday, March 18, 2018 from 12:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Haggard- Sefton- Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home, with a reciting of the Holy Rosary at 5:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 19, 2018 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, with visitation 1 hour prior at St. Mary’s Parish Hall from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Officiating will be Father David Ruppert and burial will take place in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Masses, or the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
