B. Aileen Miller Franz

June 30, 1924 ~ October 23, 2018 (age 94)

B. Aileen Miller Franz, 94, of Decatur, IN passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Adams Woodcrest Nursing Center. Aileen was born on June 30, 1924 in Chicago, IL to the late Ralph E. and Blanche A. (Gadbois) Rolape. Aileen married her first husband, Oscar J. Miller on June 19, 1948 and he preceded her in death on September 20, 1969. She then married Herman Franz Jr. on November 22, 1975; he also preceded her in death on October 27, 2008.

Aileen was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Women of St. Mary, Catholic Ladies of Columbia and Our Lady of Good Counsel. She also was a member of the Caliente Homemakers Club and volunteered for numerous years at Adams Memorial Hospital. Aileen was a homemaker and worked part time at the Niblick’s Department Store.

She is survived by eight children, Paul (Wendy) Miller of Decatur, Phillip (Jane) Miller of Mendon, Ohio, Steven (Barb) Miller of Hoagland, Michael (Debbie) Miller of Toronto, Canada, Marie (Daniel) Gorrell of Atchison, Kansas, Linda (Mike Mathias) Miller of Fishers, Roseann (Larry) Sundheimer of Decatur, and Robert Miller of Ft. Wayne; a daughter-in-law, Rachelle Dean of Grand Rapids, MI; a brother, Ralph Rolape of Herrrin, IL; a sister, Rosemary (Louis) Iacona of Pinepoils, South Carolina; 20 grandchildren and 17 + 1 on the way great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Daniel and Peter Miller; 2 brothers and a sister.

Visitation will be on Sunday, October 28, 2018 from Noon-3:00 p.m. at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home, with reciting of the Holy Rosary at 3:00 p.m.

A 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, October 29, 2018 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church with Fr. Jose Panamattathil, VC officiating.  Calling will be 1 hour prior to mass from 9:00-10:00 a.m. in the St. Mary’s Parish Hall.  Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to St. Joseph Catholic School.
