Henry G. Kranich, 97, of Decatur, IN formerly of Indianapolis, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018 at Adams Woodcrest. He was born on Dec.2, 1920 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Henry and Angela (Weber) Kranich. On February 7, 1942, in Buffalo, NY, Henry married Mary A. Keroack; she preceded him in death on February 2, 2005.
Surviving are daughters, M. Diane (Michael) Mess of Dublin, Ohio and Deborah Ann (Grant) Porter of Decatur along with grandchildren, Matthew (Alison) Mishler, Mark Mishler, Mary Anne (John) Workinger, Bradford (Jennifer) Mess, Megan Mess, and Kenton (Janice) Mess. Great grandchildren, Drake and Ella Mishler, and Cain and Zeke Workinger; three step grandchildren, Erik, Kevin and Kyle Porter and three step great grandchildren, Issac, Lucy and Ally Porter. He was predeceased by a sister, Catherine Shuttleworth.
Henry graduated from Wayne State University School of Pharmacy in 1949 following service in the U. S. Army during WW II. He retired from Eli Lilly & Co. in 1985 after 37 years with the company. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Decatur, IN and also a lifetime member of the NRA.
Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, with visitation prior from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Pastor James Voorman will be officiating. Burial will take place on Monday, January 15th at 1:00 p.m. at Acacia Park Cemetery, Beverly Hills, MI.
Memorials are to Zion Lutheran Church or to Family Life Care Hospice.
