Donnabelle F. Sprunger, 90, of North Manchester, IN, formerly of Decatur, IN, passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Peabody Retirement Community in North Manchester. She was born on January 18, 1927, in Decatur, IN, the daughter of the late Brice and Edna (Edgell) Roop. On April 4, 1948, she married Jethro B. Sprunger and after 52 years together, he preceded her in death on October 21, 2000.
She was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Decatur and was active in the Decatur Women’s Club. She was a graduate of Decatur High School and attended Ball State University.
Donnabelle served for many years as the court reporter for the Adams County Superior and Circuit Courts, most notably for Judge Lorren Caffee.
She is survived by her daughter, Deb N. (Brad) Bishop of Winona Lake, IN; 2 sons, Scot J. (Jenny) Sprunger and Jared B. Sprunger of Phoenix, AZ; a brother, Kenneth (Joan) Roop of Decatur; 4 grandchildren, Carli Sprunger, Nan (Justin) Miller, Reid Bishop, and Hannah Bishop; 2 great grandchildren, Shen & Akio Miller.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home, with visitation prior from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor Heather Olson-Bunnell and Pastor Chris Gadlage. Burial will take place in the Decatur Cemetery.
